美國網球公開賽台北時間14日進行男單準決賽，瑞士天王費德勒（Roger Federer）以7-6(3)、7-5、7-5擊敗塞爾維亞德約科維奇（Novak Djokovic），晉級冠軍賽，距離6連霸，只差一步了。
費德勒台北時間15日凌晨冠軍戰的對手將是阿根廷的德爾波特羅（Juan Martin Del Potro），德爾波特羅在另一場男單準決賽中以3個6-2擊敗西班牙名將納達爾（Rafael Nadal）。
對於冠軍決賽，費德勒表示：「波特羅今天和納達爾的比賽打得很棒，因為跟納達爾打球從來都沒有容易過，看他打球的風格很令人印象深刻，所以我不會低估他，他擁有最好的夏天，即使這只是他第一個大滿貫決賽，當然我在身體和精神上都感覺很好，我不會擔心明天的比賽，我們在巴黎打出了偉大的比賽，當時比分很接近，看看這次會有怎樣的結果，這將會很有趣。」
費德勒認為自己現在面對紀錄、戰續，都抱持著很平和的心情與態度，他說：「現在我不再為打出好球、打出壞球而抓狂，因為我知道在比賽中還有很多分數，而在生活中還有很多比賽，從媒體這方面來講，我不會再遭遇到法網、15冠這類的問題，這讓我在記者會上可以更輕鬆，我感到很寬心和開心，這個夏天是如此美好。」(UDN記者方正東)
